This project explores the implementation of a multi-agent simulation in Unity game engine to model the emergent pattern formation observed in the slime mold Physarum Polycephalum. Inspired by the work of (Jones, Characteristics of Pattern Formation and Evolution in Approximations of Physarum Transport Networks, 2010), the simulation aims to replicate the organism’s dynamic behaviors and network formation processes. The simulation employs a multi-agent system where individual agents deposit and follow trails, leading to the emergence of complex patterns and network structures. The project also explores the effects of varying parameters on the pattern formation process.
